‘Nooo!’ cried all the women with a penchant for all fashion things. ‘You can’t do this! Give us a bag we can’t say ”No” to, when a ”Yes” doesn’t really work. We can’t fit a damn thing in this new bag.’

‘I dare you.’ replied Fashion in the cheekiest laughter.

We don’t really need that much. Or do we? Can we trade our big carryalls for these teeny tiny bags? Makeup? Overrated. Phones? Paaaalease. We’ve got pockets. Keys? Well those can fit inside. And btw, so can a tiny lipstick, a hand cream and a card. Perhaps some change or a 20 bill, just in case. Carrying a whole stationary slash Boots shop with us has proven pretty useless over time. The bigger the bag the more chances you’re not gonna find anything in there. It’s like a God damn black hole. So… along came fashion with a simplifying solution: tiny is the new massive. Stop carrying around all your crap, and learn to prioritize. Keep only what matters close to you. Life lesson alert. Maybe. 

The bags of 2014 are the prettiest and sweetest things ever. TINY PRETTY BAGS that seem to belong to some other you, who’s only inches taller than a Louis Vuitton suitcase.

How can we fit all our 24 hours  in one tiny bag, smaller than our palms? Well… we can’t. Instead we should practice what sartorial connoisseurs preach: apparently minimalism is IN so this TINY BAG trend is just about the best opportunity to go with this less-is-more flow. Never one to care too much for the aforementioned flow, when it comes to the 2014 MICRO TREND, to hell with my stupid rules. I mean just last month I was on a rant about the micro sweater replacing the oversized one. So I’m embracing this smaller is better bag thing, yet I’m not ready to ditch on all the bling, color blocking, glam. I’ll take one tiny bag for each huge occasion. How’s that? ;) I mean who really needs an iPad to work? Books to read on tubes and buses? Heels in the bag – cause who the hell can walk in them at 9 am? Or, God forbid we may need them for a tres importante meeting slash rendez-vous, I’d rather carry them for nothing, than regret them forever.

Okay. Now look at these bags… … and just erase everything you ever knew and cared about bags. Oversized massive bags are great for a 9-5, but work schedule aside, you got no excuse to not carry with you a teeny tiny handbag, that looks like your wallet. Only carries less stuff.

That’s not to say the massive designs are unfashionable, just that in 2014 Spring/Summer we’re a bit girly, retro, adorable, sweet and treat our bags more like accessories (which they are). Per se. Like shoes, a great bag can make an outfit, it can be the statement piece of your whole look, which is great. It can be simple, packed with bling, beads, crystals. It can be a pop of color as tiny as a phone dangling off your shoulder or resting across your body. Micro bags are the easiest way to have fun, switch and style looks.

Yeah they may not be hoarder-friendly, but there’s something so incredibly feminine and ’60′s retro about a teeny tiny bag it’s irresistible. Plus they look ridiculously fun. I especially love those styles that come in huge designs normally, but for the sake of this trend they’ve made them sooo small, as if they’re shrunken, and belong to some fashion addicted doll in some fairy-tale world.

Sure… not too practical, but really impossible to resist. What do you think?

You know those relaxed but chic looks we put together so effortlessly and really unconscious as if we’ve mastered the sartorial art since well… forever? And then we go off and read something somewhere (me reading in WhoWhatWear) that says BAM! the look we’ve taken for granted for years is a trend! I wonder is it really like that? Do we unconsciously dress to trends and don’t treat them as such until some validated thing or person declares them trend worthy? I mean think about it, just last week I was going on about how massive a trend white sneakers is. Really? Or sweaters in fall. Coats in winter. Sandals in summer. Wow, thank God for the clear sign, otherwise I’d have gone to work in my PJs in summer and bathing suit in winter.

Trend alert or not, apparently we’re convinced cuffers. All of us. Rolling and folding our jeans since we were kids and cuffing them on and on and on and on every single day. Almost. Much like its siblings (the half tuck, the rolled up sleeves) we do it in such a fashionable haste it’s both great and easy to overlook. Or take for granted for that matter. But 3 people wearing the same thing does a trend make, and by the looks of cuffed trousers around town we’re smitten with this style. Men and women alike. So why do we cuff our jeans? Where did all this cuff craze begin in the first place? Who started it? Why? Does it really do any justice to our style?

And is there a shtick to this thing, or just roll those fuckers as you wish? The CUFFED JEANS TREND has a lot to do with our pop culture and our guilty pleasure for celebs spotted by paparazzi on the street. How do they look on a daily basis? What are they wearing? Usually it’s super relaxed styles, casual, boho-chic, quite messy looks – with the Cuffed Jeans being ubiquitous when it comes to their off-duty style. We looked. Saw. Loved. And emulated. 

There’s something very Parisian in cuffing your jeans, as if you’re chic on the go and require no preparation whatsoever to look simple and sophisticated. Which couldn’t be more true. So long live the stars! :)

Then came the bloggers. And before we knew it every fashionsta, stylist, editor & fashion passionate at Fashion Week was cuffing like mad, for the same reason previously stated. It’s cool. It’s incredibly chic and French vibed. And it’s no rocket science.

Or is it? I always wondered if there was more than the beauty of unawareness and carelessness when it comes to nailing these effortless looks? Style you have. It’s fashion you buy. If this is true (and I think it is, you just learn to master the former in time) then some of us are born with the messy penchant. So then, how can the rest of us fool the less connoisseurs that we too belong with the cool kids of fashion? How do we cuff our jeans to nail this trend to its perfection?

Let me start off by saying my POV on this one (not that anyone really gives a crap): no rules chicas! Ever. The beauty of fashion is that wrong does not exist, and the CUFFED TREND is one of the best showcases of this theory of mine.

ANY jeans style can be cuffed. In as many rolls or folds as you wish. It goes with ANY shoe style. ANY outfit. Any occasion. Any age. Any sex. It’s fantastic. 

Oversized Jeans: cuffing BF jeans or super large styles can be done in half, 1, 2 or 3 folds. Thick messy folds look great with oversized jeans as they give more definition to your legs and silhouette, and the exposed ankle is a very cheeky but well placed detail for showing off inches of your frame. It adds that bohemian and careless vibe to an outfit and it looks amazing with heels. 

Skinny Jeans: the cuff on these is thinner and less visible maybe, but it looks great. It elongates the legs, and showing a bit of ankle with heels, loafers, or tennis shoes is just the perfect way to add a bit of chicness and to break the monotony of long clean jeans. 

A thing I’ve noticed as a long term cuffer and addict of the cuffing is that doing this shtick to BF jeans will make them look more feminine. For skinny jeans, if they’re not very long (my case all the time) it’s a great way to mask their shortness. I also love the white washed out denim of the cuffing against the ankle and the shoes. Especially heels.

More looks: Not a new thing at all, this cuffing business is in the spotlight right now which means 2 things: (1) if you haven’t cuffed, you’d better start to, and (2) if you’re a cuffer you just got a major applause and style validation. :)

Glamour. Glitz. Sparkles and bling. Patterns, colors, funky shits. STOP. It’s time to take up a style challenge: STYLING BASIC T-shirts! Now before you go off and dismissively laugh in my face (by all means, go ahead) ask yourself this: when was the last time you ever wore a basic tee somewhere? Anywhere? Sleep and moping around the house does not count.

Also, question excludes any style gimmick the tee may hold. That’s right, no glitter, no beads, no nothing. Well, okay maybe a teeny tiny text, or pattern. But that’s just cause I like you. With trends like mismatched prints, bold colors and patters clearly it’s no wonder our eyes and finances are swung by the fashion extravaganza the moment we pop into a store. And really, who can blame us? It’s all a circus and mad glitzy world out there, but today I dare you to forget everything you ever knew about fashion. Fuck trends and all those stupid rules. Seriously, do we really need them? Exactly.

What if simple became the new fabulous? Wouldn’t that be amazing? On this note I dare you to style a plain tee and consider wearing one anywhere. Would you? As a kid I used to hate simple tees. Give me pinks, sparkles and unicorns all over. Sometimes I was OK with a basic one but it had to be red or dark blue. And that was when I was fashion punished by my mom. Or when all my ditsy sartorial choices were dirty, so I had to settle for basic. Meh.

Today, though I still love a bit of glam (okay a lot actually), I would pick a basic white, black or grey T-shirt over any top. Anytime. It’s one of my favorite pieces ever, much like a blank canvas that can be styled in soooo many ways it’s crazy. Or can be kept simple to give you a chic effortless crispy look. For sporty casual styles, basic tees are a uniform really. Sneakers, wedges or flat sandals on and you’ve got the weekend look going on. Cutoffs or mini skirts for summer. The moment you clash a basic tee with a smarter outfit – think pencil skirts, trousers, heels, blazers – you get a very chic understated sophisticated look. Tip: tuck your tee, roll up the sleeves and don a statement necklace. ;) Also a great bag will always pop against a simple tee look. Think all black – skinny black jeans, slouchy black tee, flat pumps, heels, sneakers, sandals or even boots – and BAM! a colored bag.

Red lips can be the best accessory ever when rocking a basic T-shirt. T-shirt styles: slouchy, long, short, fitted, crispy, soft, V-neck, round, plain, bare, or a bit of text and print is still OK to get the same style.

Get some outfit inspiration right here: We may think wearing and styling a simple tee is such a piece of cake, yet the moment you’re wearing one, stripped off of all the sartorial extras you feel a bit weird, as if you’re too dressed down. Bare. Plain.  Simplicity in style is quite chic and it sometimes does feel as if we need a dose of relaxed vibe in our lives. There’s a certain elegance, freshness and sexiness in wearing a pair of jeans and a simple T-shirt. Or a pencil skirt and a basic tee. Perhaps it has to do with confidence and inner style. Few of us can pull off such a look and feel great in it elsewhere than the comfort of our homes.

So shall we take on this dare then: ditching our fancy office & going-out tops for basic tees?

… is that black on white, white on black, thin or thick and always horizontal,  stripes printed on basic tops are the longest married clothing couple of all times.

Not rare are the shopping occasions when some of my friends throw fashion tips at me, which is by all means a great thing (throw away bitches. in a good way.) and what happens is this. I always end up buying something black. And something with stripes. Hence the fashion don’t's thrown at me: “Stop dressing in black for God’s sake” versus ”Ahhh, a striped top? Again? Whatever.”

And the worst part (for them, not me. I see nothing wrong with my shopping logic) is I still feel I need some extra striped tops. Black clothes? Well those you can never have enough. Today’s post came to me really as a simple math thing. (go figure!) What happens when you take a basic tee + the one print trend that’s always gonna be a hit, no matter the decade, the sex, the age or the season? Yes, black & white thin horizontal STRIPES I’m looking at you. Well… easy peasy. You get = STRIPES ON TOPS. A look, again taken for granted, that’s always there to save the day, always looks great, is incredibly versatile that it can go from office to weekends, from beach to business meetings, from 9 am to some 11 pm dates or late drinks.

Think of a style, any style, and dare yourself to dress around a black and white horizontal thin black & white stripped top. It’ll work. Hell, it will look fantastic. Clean, trendy but effortless, chic and slightly boho or even rich & luxurious if you mix it up with tons of whites and gold accessories. There’s something retro & sophisticated about a striped top look, but then again it can also be a I-can’t-be-bothered-thing that looks better than chic and cool altogether.

It’s got a bit f that navy trend, or those 60′s styles, of those 90′s basics… it’s all really up to you how you wanna wear it. And contrary to belief, that stripes are sooo hard to pull off, a STRIPED TOP is the easiest thing to wear with ANYTHING. It may not sound as such, but visually it’ll be a total fashion brilliance. 

• Best black & white striped tops combos in my humble opinion remain those with jeans & colored heels.
• An all black style with a striped tee equals amazing.
• An all white one will look sea-side-like meets rich socialite on holiday.
• Leather skirt or trousers, very cool.
• Brogues or flat pumps with any outfit will give the striped tops a very French vibe.

The most precious style tip when it comes to these ladies tops is a pop of color. RED lips look beyond amazing with a black and white striped top. ;)

Sometimes all it takes is a basic thing, the simplest clothing item & the most versatile print ever to look fabulous. Sure, florals in spring will always be a hit. So will bright colors. Or whites. But somehow I thing we’ve done the basic things in our lives a little injustice.

Black & white stripped tops are the basic chic in our lives. But the same chicness and coolness one can get with red or navy & white stripes. On tops. Or on anything really. Do you remember Khloe Kardashian’s red & white striped dress. Oh. My. God. So let’s get the inspiration going then.

When it comes to simple plain things, it’s mostly a go-for-simple-sure-thing or an imagination-style-exercise. Anyway whatever the case, bold or simple I’m all for it. Maybe I’m just having the Monday blues and hope these stripes will take me to some cool & chic place on the French riviera. Or maybe not.Anyway, I shall not stop. Stripes and black clothes here I come. Again.

With a vengeance. High & on skirts for 2014 spring & summer.

Well, well, well, looks like Angelina Jolie’s dangling desperate skinny leg that escaped from underneath her long Versace gown at 2012 Oscars red carpet and had a moment all of its own, finally paid off. Angelina’s not the kind of woman to be out-staged by anyone, but her attention whore leg just slapped the shit out of this gorgeous lady and BAM! it was right there when we least expected it. Ha! You thought it did its thing and that was it. ‘Think again bitch’ said the Leg. For all this leg drama I blame THE SLIT. Yep. Were it not for that high thigh fabric cut we would’ve had less things to laugh about and less trends to inspire us. Or maybe not.

The slit in both skirts and dresses has always been there. Sure, maybe not trendy per se at all times, but wearing a thigh high slit was never a faux pas, especially in evening or cocktail dresses. So what has changed so much that this season the slit is considered a massive trend? First of all it’s more specific. It moved from night time into day time, on skirts especially, whether it’s in front, side or even a double slit, it’s there. Pretty high, quite cheeky and very nonchalant. The Slit suddenly brought midi/tea-length skirts back into fashion, which is an amazing thing. We’re not all in our 20′s and even if we were, or looked like we were, a mini can only do so much. It’s rarely work appropriate par example. And requires killer legs. So the slit is a very sexy compromise. It’s on longer hems skirts so you can pull an Angelina anytime on anyone. ;) Or keep it under cover. Or just leave it to weather mercy. The slit skirt trend in 2014 has a bit of all its elder siblings (retro sex-appeal, 90s cheeky grungyness, 70′s divalicious tea-lengths and pleats all over) and the effortlessness and polished madness of our times. It goes with anything, on any skirt style, fabric, night or day, work or play, cause you know… that’s our prerogative these days. Which brings me to the 2nd reason on why the slit is suddenly a trend. Cause all is in. Nothing in out. Style limits are so last Tuesday, it’s a pity to not give in to a spur of the moment fashion creativity. If that should be a high slit skirt in light chiffon with sneakers and your boyfriend’s t-shirt, then so be it.

Or if stiff fabric is your friend, slit that brocade skirt and wear it with unbuttoned to the waist shirts or even crop tops. The craziest the combo, the better sometimes. And now let’s dig away into street style inspo: :)

Err cause you know, all the latest shoe trends seem to be about sneakers. Tennis shoes. High-tops. Kicks. Flat gladiator sandals, or flat ballet pumps. Loafers anyone? Whatever you wanna call them. In brights or whites, the flats are everywhere. And while I’m the last to complain (lately my age has been kicking in so I find myself choosing comfort over drop-dead-gorgeous-excruciating-shoe-pains more often than I’d like to admit) I still can’t shake the caps in my mind, WHY? Are we really sick of heels and glaming up or shaking it in sky high sexy mother fucker shoes?

If it is so, then I suddenly feel as if fashion is playing a prank on us with this sporty trend that defines 2014 spring & summer. And whatever we do, it’ll be a win win situation for the sartorial world. Okay. Let me, let you in on my theory. When you tell a kid do not eat that cake, they’ll probably sneak up and eat it cause doing what you’re not suppose to is always more fun than sticking with the norm. So I’m thinking the fashion bitch had this marvelous epiphany one day: “Why don’t I give these suckers a trend to make them miss the hot sophistication of heels, and make the sexy shoes an exclusive pick. If this should stick, great! If not, then I guess we’ll have a summer in flats.” Or, it can all be a simple and plain consequence of the ALL is IN fashion movement we’re living. Cause seriously who the hell would give up heels for the rest of the summer for SLIP ONs? We’d choose both. Doh. If they’re good enough for Pharell… they’re good enough for us. Oh, did I mention it’s sort of a unisex trend. Yeah boys can wear them too. :)

Slip-ons: slightly thick soled (usually white soled) sneakers without laces. Think a style-a-trois between the loafers, sneakers and thick soled shoes. Ta-daaa!

And to my above question, I think I may be surprised even my by own choices on this one (you know, with age comes wisdom and shit), but still, no party/cocktail/posh event is complete without heels. Well, unless you’re one of the Olsens. Real talk for a second now. So slip ons are the IT shoes of 2014 spring and that, my friend, is not so bad. They’re obviously comfortable and according to every street style pic they do go with almost anything. Yeah you might not look like a smart posh polished business woman, but the chic sophisticated laid back look is the new smart. It’s model off duty. Or French editor. Or cool California girl on a sunny day having coffee or going shopping with her friends. It’s New York hipster boy or girl hiding underneath a vintage hat in ripped jeans and slouchy tee meeting their somebodys for coffee. Any trend that’s easy to wear will stick. That’s just how it is. Somehow I feel as if we’ve had it with trying too much, sexing it up and being too cool for school. Which, let me tell you is a very liberating fresh feeling. But I shall not give up my heels.

Well okay nobody said I should, it was just my hasty presumption that one trend excludes another that had me all jumping at the poor slip ons’ throat. Or maybe I’m just looking for excuses to wear my heels tonight. ;)

Well… I’ll. Be. Darned. The fashion world finally came to its senses, climbing back on stilettos that is. :) My Friday’s shoe related worry was simply tossed aside the moment it dawned on me that while sneakers and flats of all all sorts are having their moment, one style of heels is making up for all the heels in the world, and really stealing the spotlight.

Comes to show you it only takes one sultry pair of shoes to make us ditch comfort over its counterpart. And who could have done it better than the LACE-UP Heels, which, in no less than 2 weeks have become the IT heeled sandals of 2014 Spring & Summer. Surprised? Clearly you haven’t seen them. These shoes are pure sex. With foreplay and all. They’re not only hot and all the adjectives that come with the new painted picture, but they intrigue, they promise, the show yet conceal it all. With tiny thin or thick straps caging the foot or just loosely adorning it, lace-ups make up for all the lack of trendy heels this season. Certainly not new on the scene of fashion (I remember stealing my mom’s lace-up stiletto sandals when I was 17. And that was waaaay back. Late 90′s. And then it was around 2009 they had a slight comeback.) and always popping up around fashion week, regardless of season, on some editor’s or fashionistas’s feet, these lace-up heel sandals, when not in black or nudes, resemble feet jewellery. They literally adorn the foot, in gold or silver, or bright shades as if a festin of feet funky printed glittery fashion is going on with every step you take. 

In terms of what or how to wear these 2014 shoe stars, you have a range of possibilities.

Black lace-up sandals are more of a heavy look, slightly edgy, resembling a boot from a far, but not quite on approaching. Nude styles are ones of my faves, as they elongate the legs, as if pretending they’re not there, but revealing and delivering so much more with their subtlety than one might expect. Then there are the printed ones, which are incredibly fantastic, doing their funky sexiness-to-the-feet job with the slightest effort. Then come the glittery ones, in gold or silver. It don’t get no better. And the best thing these shoes have is their hot versatility. Pairing them with ANYTHING will give that whatever-outfit you’re wearing an instant boost of sophistication, luxe, style, that can either be a version of Carrie Bradshaw’s eclectic effortless sophisticated look, or it can be a Samantha’s bombshell persona version. If one shoe can do this, it’s this one. From jeans, shorts, jersey dresses to red carpet gowns, work outfits or party looks the lacy racy heels got it all covered. In straps. One thing is clear: heels are the best shoes ever, never dated, never too much, and always a good idea. ;)

Suddenly, with all these laces, I feel like singing ”I’m walking in a spiderweb.”

Or rather, were they ever not? When it comes to this crispy smooth soft creamy non-color – as much as I LOVE it during summer – I have never ever, ever had a white bag, nor have I ever ever had an urge to own one. Until now. I don’t even know if they’re back in fashion (I would presume so, given the hot season and how some things are always IN in summer or spring, whites anything being part of this lot) and frankly I couldn’t care less.

Actually I’d prefer they weren’t, just so my self inflated ego feels great yet again at self proclaiming its person a trendsetter. As if.

Moving on to more importante stuff, like how every month (okay week) I seem to have a new fashion crush (exhausting I tell you. It’s like having a severe case of fashion ADD.) I’m thinking that from now we should all share our fashion crushes and must have things of the week. Ha. How about that? As the title betrays, my fashion crush of this week is the WHITE BAG, which I find incredibly irresistible for spring and summer 2014. Now you know last winter I was so skeptical about wearing white in the white season. In summer though, I adore it. It’s my go to color. I love it against my skin tone and I think nothing will ever beat the elegance, crispiness, softness, chicness and sophistication of a white dress in spring or summer.

From beach style, to shift dresses, to cocktail ones, to maxis, to minis, to ANY style whatsoever the white dress is a staple. It was through this white dress love that I discovered my new crush. I saw an all white look somewhere: white dress, white sandals and white bag. And I was smitten. The only other colors were the sunglasses, the nails and lips, which in case you’re doing an all white look can be the best pop of color in the world. And since WHITE BAGS is on our agenda today, I’m telling you, great nails that pop against the softness of a white bag are fucking amazing. Or just plunge into the creamy shade with matte white nails for an all white extreme trendy effect.

A white bag always seems more forward, loud yet understated, a bit too matronly at times, too elegant, yet when paired with a somewhat contrasted style it’s magic. The design also counts big time. My favorite ones are the white structured bags, either tiny, medium sized or huge. They have that sophisticated stiffness to them. They look rich & luxurious. Clean. Summer-ish. And if they’ve got a bit of gold details to them, that’s it. I’m. In. Love.

For 2014 summer, whether you’re heading off to some important meeting, having a fun day out in the sun, going to an event or the beach (okay, sans le red lips in this case) this look says it all: confident, chic, sartorial connoisseur not taking herself too seriously and just having fun.

Nothing says 2014 cool summer like a pair of mirrored sunglasses, which are IN for quit some time, but never before have they made such a huge statement. So what is it about them that has women, of all ages and styles smitten with the wild rebel funky beach girl look, these glasses exude? They’re shiny. Colorful. And their lenses are practically mirrors. And they go with anything, even if they don’t, giving a certain youthfulness and coolness to a look. A bit of rave/funky/90′s disco-dancing queen meets cheeky teens in Spring break. And the same pair of shades can look smashing hot on a professional stylish woman.

Any shape looks fabulous: aviators, wayfarers,  round, cat-eyed, all of them. In any color: blue, green, red, pink, brown, yellow, grey. When you wear them on a daily basis they’re your tiny fashion razzmatazz. If you wear them in summer, at the beach, wow! it’s all an explosion of senses: the bright shades, the colorful mismatches of the sunnies with your swim suit, the mirrors’ glance against your shiny sun kissed skin. Now… picture that daytime mirrored sunglasses look with RED LIPS. Oh.My. God. (in Janice accent.) This is my favorite look right now, and the best thing about it is that it goes for anytime, with anything and it’s got a bit of both of my fave worlds: fashion AND beauty. A white summer dress, or a chiffon floaty shirt with cutoffs styled with a pair of mirrored sunnies and red lips is beyond amazing. It’s stylish, slightly galm, but the right shoes can dress it up or down. Who’s to blame for this look, that I now proclaim the ultimate look of 2014 summer?

Khloe Kardashian. (yeah, yeah, yeah, roll your eyes all you want.) I’ve seen her in her show I think, wearing this exact look, after seeing a few other street style gals rocking it, and she just put the exclamation point into it. Look inspiration: I swear sometimes I get obsessed about the tiniest things, but it comes to show you how a great look lies in a simple combo and a great attitude. Plus loads of fun. ;)

Just when I thought the 90′s were taking a back seat from the spotlight, they practically slapped me in the face with this grungy cool shoe trend. Okay, truth be told, the cut out bulky shoes are not a thing of the present. With a birth chart debuting back in the grunge era they’ve made their comeback in 2013 fall, but who can blame their impossible to sit-aside impulse, when everyone is channeling some heroine slash boho slash grunge babe of the 90s? Cut out booties a great trend make. They’re incredibly cool & sophisticated and look amazing with jeans, or flirty dresses and skirts for that 90′s look I was talking about. I mean back I the day I wore boots with just about anything. Like the worst fight I had with my parents was fashion linked cause I refused to give up my bulky boots for some girly party dress I was wearing to some posh function. Pfff. I’m still not sorry. I rocked that shit.

The cut out booties are basically a guaranteed look from fall to summer and come in tons of designs from patent, black, brown, packed with buckles, bulked, thick heeled, all the way to pointed toe, thin straps, more feminine, think cowboy girl goes to the office in 2014 and rules the world. Weather wise, they’re just the most amazing shoe of this season. If it rains and it’s chillier they’ll work cause you know, they’re boots. Wearing trendy socks with them is a great option too for funkying it up. If it’s warm and sun’s shining they’ll look fantastic balanced with some flirty dresses or cutoffs, or even smarter attire for office. They’ve got the cutouts for feet air circulation, so don’t sweat it. Literally. They give edge to a look, regardless of how girly, feminine or smart that outfit is. They’ve got that rocknroll je m’en fiche thing going on, and inject tons of confidence into the wearer. I mean walking in some badass boots, packed with buckles that can make grungy sounds as you step your way through the day, and glow in the summer sun, with wind blowing through their cut-outs  - er, hello fashion superhero. Talk about feeling rad! It’s sexy without the slightest effort.

Like their moto or combat siblings, the cut-outs go with anything. Even if they don’t, it’ll still look great. Have a look. :) With cropped everything and cut-outs anythings no surprise the trend stuck on ankle boots as well.

”And in spite of the weather, I’m wearing boots forever and ever”. whatever. I’m stopping now, before this whole singing in fashion writing gets worse.

Before you start drooling on yourself, STOP. This is not a food post, although it could be. No. If life has taught me one thing it’s that you can’t have the cake and eat it too.

Or can you?! Can we have a ridiculously delicious dish of spaghetti and wear spaghetti straps as well? You know, those thin straps that look incredibly feminine and are ’90′s reminiscent on all possible cami styles whether tops or dresses? And more often than not requite skinny arms?

Yeah. Those are the spaghetti suckers we’re talking about today. So if spaghetti straps are only thin & toned arms friendly, how the hell did they make a massive comeback? Am I missing something or is the whole world a walking model runway? Or maybe, we love fashion a bit too much, to care. Yes, I’ll go with this one, because you see, spaghetti straps are hard to say NO to, hence their massive comeback. Designers sent models down the runway for 2014 – 2015 Autumn/Winter in long dresses with spaghetti straps resembling goth/grungy/romantic dolls. And that’s for next season. But why wait, right? Truth is, once the hot season is in, so are thin fabrics, light colors, shorter hems, and thinner straps. Beach tops and dresses look much better with feminine delicate tiny straps rather than the opposite, and there’s just something soooo carelessly sexy about a silky piece of cloth just hanging off  a tanned back. And don’t get me started on those silk tops with spaghetti straps that loosely hang off toned skinny shoulders and look amazing paired with office trousers, pencil skirts or jeans. For a very feminine rich and luxuriant yet casual look wear your silk spaghetti strap top with the same color bottom. Best looks are: all white, all cream, all black. But now that I expand on this I think an all red, all blue or all emerald green would look beyond amazing. Today the spaghetti strap trend is more polished, it’s about that rich casual look. Although, from time to time a little grunge a la 90′s, never hurt anyone. The cami dresses, with those thin spaghetti straps, have got the cheekiest thing going on, resembling lingerie but worn as very feminine sexy or grungy dresses. Remember Kate Moss in the 90s? That’s the look. Remember Calvin Klein’s basic cami tops and dresses? Ding. Ding. Get more cami inspiration… In case you forgot, these thin straps on tops or dresses were a massive trend in the 90′s. I had thin arms & spaghetti straps on all my tops and cami dresses, back then. And ate spaghetti all the time.

Now I’m drooling over the latter and dreaming at the former. Life’s not fair.

Yeah they’re not super easy to pull off, but mini skirts aren’t either. Or shorts, cropped tops or bustiers for that matter. Hasn’t stopped us in the past, sure ain’t gonna stop us now.

Bra tops, ankle boots, sneakers, tropical prints, crop tops, hats, body jewellery, tousled hair and messy braids, weave knits, black, white, and nude outfits, long vests, lace, fringes, backpacks, tiny bags and fanny packs. Fuck me. It’s like the all year around existing trends had a conference and decided to meet up in the desert at Coachella.

And they brought some new cool (once un-cool) kids to the party, like fanny packs?!! Massive ring noses (Kendall Jenner I’m looking at you). Off the shoulder tops and whatever was 60′s, 70′s, 80′s, and 90′s cool, whether in-your-face as if you’ve just had a leap in time, or beautifully reinvented. There’s something about the dusty desert in that twilight red yellow light, best music playing, best friends by your side, drinks in one hand and outfits that go with your mood rather than a certain trend, a bit of buzz going on and tons of Instagram moments that I confess I’m longing for and crazy about. It’s rebellious. Youthful. Careless and wild. I love that. The fashion at Coachella is among my favorite street styles of them all. This sense of being from outta trends yet piling on them by whatever your mood dictates rather than what’s hot out there one moment, or compromising between the 2 and letting your creativity run loose gives birth to some of the best looks ever: rock chick outfits, bohemian rebel child, sexy careless girls, 90′s grungy teens…

The more I scroll through all the great street style pics the more it hits me: could all these cool kids at Coachella set the trends for this summer? Cause seriously they’re draped in all possible styles & looks, and clashing items like fashion schizophrenics, while looking fabulous.

I kinda see streets this summer packed with boho chic outfits and rocker chick styles. Girls having fun with clothes and clashing all the trends out there while going shopping, having lunches on hot summer days and being ready to hit the pools or the beaches anytime it gets too hot. So in case we’re wondering what to wear this summer, I think Coachella pretty much sums it up. At least for days-off, weekend getaways and beach outfits.

Crop tops & bustiers. Sneakers obsession is huge (click here for more). Everyone is wearing them with anything. Summer ankle boots: nude & brown shades of square heeled and flat ankle boots, cut-out boots, cowboy styles. Really refreshing to see we’ve strayed a bit from the moto slash combat foot fashion in favor of something lighter & more feminine but still grungy and rocknroll. Accessories craze: fun sunglasses with mirrored or round lenses, flowers in your hair, scarves, body jewelry, tiny thin layers of necklaces, bracelets, rings, and ring-bracelets are IN.

Hats. Massive flapper styles or vintage fedora or cowboy hats.Cutoffs, long vests, maxi skirts, all-black or all-white outfits versus neon clothes, tropical prints, bright colors. Funky combos versus plain simple styles. And tons, I repeat tons of gladiator sandals & lace-ups.

Let’s have a look and get some summer inspiration ;) All is in, what differentiates one from another and makes great visuals and pics is personal style. And that… is the best thing about fashion today.

I always thought of myself more as a heels person, but as of lately, with all this athletic trend happening and the invasion of sneakers of all sorts, slip-ons & any possible flat shoe you can think of, my self perception is rather distorted or just left to theory, as I find myself more often then not, going for the comfy casual cool shoe rather than the glam sky high heels.

Hm. Also the stupid age thing maybe. Although never ever on a night out or on those sexy as fuck days we all need to have. 2014 Spring & Summer seem to be all about shoes I swear, and that my friend, I LOVE. More so, this year’s hot season is focusing so much on casual, relaxed, laid back, by-the-beach looks. Even if you don’t live by the beach, you can still do this summer’ish Mediterranean style as if you’re some posh boho chic gal on a yacht somewhere kicking it back Riri style.

Or we’ll just pretend our bathtub is like this coastal pool somewhere in Greece or Italy. Doh.

And now let’s grab a cold refreshing cocktail, sit by our pools and talk about ESPADRILLES. What do you make of this canvas shoe with rope sewn into soles? With designers and high street giving the crowd what they want (the espadrille) no wonder the brilliant minds making us spend and spend and spend on clothes and shoes are giving us a Heaven Espadrille: all colors are in, prints and patters, brights, nudes, pastels, blacks, whites, thin or thick soled, and also made of any fabric not just canvas – leather, lace, or both. And if you think this shoe is too… meh, plain. Think again. Errr Chanel, Tory Burch and tons of other massive designers have jumped in on this trend. And the better just keeps getting better. (1) It’s a shoe for both men and women. And (2) It’s got that beach vibe to it, but it goes great in the city as well. Everyone with a penchant for fashion is living in these shoes right now regardless of being in New York, LA or Australia. Aaaaand office wise, if the cool editors/managers can do them, then I think so can we. Picture a summer-ish knee length skirt, a blouse and a pair of nude or black espadrilles. ;) Shut the front door!

Maybe we all wanna have a bit of Mediterranean close by. Maybe we all just wanna move by the sea. Or maybe fashion has just had it with the TOO much in everything, and women are just sick of looking like we’re trying so hard, when in fact we don’t give a crap. We all just wanna feel comfy AND look fabulous, and up to now this just seemed like tres impossible to do. Well… boys and girls, not anymore. ;)

Before you start flipping your mane back and forth on some Black Sabbath resembling tune, stop. If you came here for the music, you’d better leave before fashion hits you in the head. If however you’re a savvy sartorial, well then… you probably got it all figured out already and you know the TREND in this post is more rocknroll than heavy metal itself. Aaaa NOOO! I did not just say that.

Yes I did.

We’re talking Metallic Trend for 2014 Spring & Summer and we’re loving it. For this season designers sent models down the runway looking like 70s disco dolls slash robots, draped in metallic fabrics from liquid textures to stiff structured thick ones, from dresses, to tops, skirts, jumpsuits, jackets and all you can think of. It all looks like a massive party happening underneath a disco ball, it’s a feeling of constant celebration, holiday with a touch of grungyness and rock vibe to it, in a very feminine super sexy way. And unlike the past it is a heavier look, sort of like the more the better. But let’t not pretend this is a WOW thing, cause as much as it has that factor to it, it’s not. It’s not new. It’s not unseen, au contraire it’s been there done that last year as well. Right? And in the 70s. Feels like not too long ago I was ranting about metallics/holographic looks going from evening to day on the streets, to the office, on an everyday basis. So what the hell is so new, or reinvented about the metallics this season?

Why is it massive all of a sudden? Did we just have a fashion blackout?

Or maybe we’re just loving it too much to let it go? Or, what if we didn’t milk this trend to its core?

Presuming all the above are true and not for one second arguing the fabulousness of it let’s divide and conquer.

Metallic skirts look ridiculously fabulous paired with basic tops, striped tees and a simple blazer. Metallic jackets can be the statement piece of any plain look and save the day. Metallic trousers, now these are perfect for a night out, for a fun casual but kinda glamorous evening when you wanna look effortlessly super hot. Metallic Shirts are by far my favorites, in that liquid fabric with a half tuck, they’d even be office appropriate. And last, but not least the metallic dresses are the OMGs! and WOWs! of all these looks. Nothing beats the glamour and lusciousness, sleek, incredibly sexy look of a long liquid dress, a knee length fitted one or a mini style one. To avoid looking too made up, keep your hair and accessories simple and have that Kate Moss rocknroll attitude going on, as if you’re just wearing your jeans and some stilettos. Or… if this robotic style is too much for you, give the metallics a go with accessories: shoes (to die for), bags, clutches, patterns and inserts, belts, nails, lips, sunglasses, and whatnot. I admit, as much as I adore this trend, I have yet to try it. I did buy a pair of metallic trousers last year from H&M, and they still have the price tag on. I might just rip that shit tonight and wear them out. :)

Can a piece that’s been worn since forever by both men & women, in a casual and professional ways be more than a staple? Are we such great sartorials that we can reinvent a piece as simple as a button-down? Apparently so.

For 2014 Spring & Summer designers’ collections had one thing in common: the reinvented button-down. How is it that such an old and really boring thing can be so trendy and new?

It’s got to do with HOW you wear it, where you button it (around your neck only, leaving your tummy out in the open, cause you know the crop top trend is still massive.), and extend the look from shirts to dresses. Also forget just-the-professional-side-of-a-shirt, cause a button-down shirt worn however you like it (tied at the waist, unbuttoned, loose) can go from morning to evening from office to beach. Jazz it up with necklaces and pile on jewellery for evening, wear it as a jacket over some mini dress or shorts for weekends, or do the half tuck in jeans for a simple but chic style. When it comes to this staple the sky’s the limit and the styles are infinite. Best button-down shirts this season to take you anywhere and save you from any style predicament are: the denim button-down, the white button-down, the animal print button-down, the black one, the blue one and maybe the plaid one if you will. A pair of ripped jeans, loose cutoffs and some gladiator sandals and you’re set for a chic style. Go for smart trousers or pencil skirts for office outfits. Saving the best for last – The Button-Down Dresses - are by far my favorite. When last month one of my friends bought errr like 10 of them I was thinking how great! (doh) but also was wondering if  buying too much of a staple turned trend is really that great. IT IS! There’s something so irresistibly casual and effortless about a button-down dress, so versatile (easily dressed up and down) that it’s like discovering fire all over again. A long sleeved chiffon/silk mini one tied around the waist looks great for summer casual days with flat sandals, and a massive bag. Leave it loose and untied around the waist if you’re going for a boho-chic style or yo’re thinking of layering it up with a short denim or leather jacket. This last style would also look fab with heels. ;) And then come those retro button-down dresses that literally take me back in time, before my time in 70′s when every woman loved those DVF wrap dresses, long to the knees, or over the knees, tied at the waist and a bit loose otherwise. The button-down is just this – the sexiest way simple-casual-effortless style comes in. To make it occasion appropriate play with fabrics and accessories. Silk, chiffon, long, maxi or tea length dresses in one color or in funky prints paired with a long thin necklace, or bold earrings, unbuttoned up to your tummy, with a high slit, and quite loose, but cinged at the waist, paired with high stiletto sandals is pure evening perfection. The same style, in any fabric, with a tea-length hem, cap sleeves, more fitted around the hips and breasts, paired with chunky heels or flats is instantly Sophia Loren vibe. Retro, sexy but on the go, without the slightest effort. It actually feels great when a basic staple we pretty much take for granted becomes a massive trend. It’s both refreshing and dares us to get more creative with pieces we’ve already got and wear them still, but in new ways. From morning to evening, from workdays to weekends.

Modays. They’re the best of times, they’re the worst of times. Or maybe just the latter if you’re to pay any attention to all the facebook Monday hatred memes going around. Still, not all is lost on Mondays, cause alongside the blues and the weekend hangovers, we get to play with fashion and take style to work. Yay.

Please constrain your excitement. If our love for all sartorial things has taught us a valuable lesson it’s that this ‘passion for fashion’ blissful crap is both a gift as well as a nightmare. How many of you really wake up and start singing of joy cause it’s Monday, and use the extra hour before work to try on outfits with a smile on your face, only to finally, in an even more retard happy state of mind, pick a colorful posh combo to go with your Monday happiness? Yeah. I thought so.

If this is you, then read no more.

If however, every single week, for 3 out of 5 times you find yourself running late, burred in clothes that to a mere mortal would make killer outfits, but to you they’re all crap that bring out the fashion monster inside you, leaving you looking stupid in your underwear staring at piles, and I mean PILES of clothes thinking ”Great! I’ve got nothing to wear”, then I’ve got 2 things to tell you.(1) This post is for you, and (2) You’re husband/BF/roommate (with no fashion penchant) probably thinks you’re crazy.

Cause the recurring question of what to wear to work? is pertinent from Monday all throughout Friday, why not take a deep breath and put our creative fashion minds to work. With one side note: we need to figure out how to stop dressing boring to work! If you’ve got the secret please share. Errr please know, simple and classy do not boring make.

So here are 7 looks & outfit ideas for work, to get you from Mondays to Fridays:

1. The CLASSIC look is probably the most common and easiest way to dress for office, regardless of your job, but also the most likely to get you looking boring, unless you remember this ONE TIP: always wear a statement piece, or just a more fun item to your look (shoes, bag, jewellery, watch, lips, nails. It’s all in the details.).2. The CASUAL business look, or the-can-I-wear-jeans-to-work is actually pretty easy to do and quite versatile. The TIP is to always wear heels, a very smart/feminine top (think silky blouse, men-shirts, structured tops), a blazer and a professional bag. Have fun with accessories and even shoes and bags depending on your job. 3. CARELESS CHIC is a look for those who’ve got slightly more penchant for fashion but look like they don’t give a crap, yet, to the trained eye they’re street-style-worthy. The TIP is to: clash different style items, play with shapes (slouchy versus fitted), with looks (feminine and masculine). Heels look best with this style, yet brogues or oxfords do the trick as well. 4. GLAMOROUS at the office is a look for all those sexy women who rule the world, and would rather do it in bright lips, sky high heels and outfits that can go from 9 am to late dinner cocktails. The TIP is always in the posh fabulous heels. Expensive perfumes, rich fabrics, pencil skirts and silky blouses, long trousers, statement golden necklaces, brand watches and massive bags or clutches. These ladies are not afraid to flaunt it all. 5. SOPHISTICATED office wear is easy to do, but it needs training, so experiment away and have fun with clothes. The TIP for this look is: enjoy fashion and always wear at least 1 statement piece, clash styles, use a classy look for a start base and then add itemes according to your personality and job: men inspired looks with super sexy heels, massive bling, sporty luxe sweatshirts with classy pencil skirts, hats, prints, leather, sheer, denim – all that the non-connoisseurs label as work inappropriate is quite the opposite, because it’s about styling them & making them work. Told you… it’s about having fun.  6. SIMPLE & FEMININE is an easy peasy look if you’re the kinda gal who loves flowy flirty dresses, tiny jewelry and looking casual smart all the time. If you think chiffon and flirty is not for office think again. The TIP: it’s all about the hem. Wear knee-length or over-the-knee dresses or skirts in any color or print, cinged at the waist, paired with smart blazers. Shoes wise, heels look better but you can also don ballet flats. 7. The EDGY looks are not for the faint hearted ones, nor for all work domains, although if I may say so, one can add a slight edge to any look and get away with it. This style is more appropriate for those who work creative jobs and have less of a strict office attire, so they can add a bit of their own thing into it: boots, leather, T-shirts, darker lips, nail-art, tennis shoes. The TIP is to remember you’re still going to work, so mix and match statement and simple. ;) So ladies, what will you be wearing tomorrow then? xoxo

Errr… Grandma called!!! She wants her shorts back. This pretty much sums up what I have to say about these long shorts making a fashion comeback for 2014 spring & summer.

After an over-usage of all surprise slash hate words and facial expression for this shorts trend, I decided to put my personal likes and dislikes aside and see why in the name of God would we bring back in fashion the ugliest shorts and most unflattering length ever? Are we really that blinded by the concept of fashion and trends that we’ve practically been brainwashed, or is it possible that these Long Shorts motherfuckers are not that bad? While I think it’s a case of both (I mean, do you really think people who wear skirts over trousers are sane?) I also think this trend is great for more reasonable motifs like: getting away with wearing shorts but not exposing the legs.

Now, that’s what I call a great trend gimmick. ;) The hem’s length also makes long shorts incredibly versatile, as they basically are the new summer trousers, stretching from office, to dinners, to parties, to weekend getaways. It’s all just a matter of finding the right length (we’re talking inches here, a few above the knee or just across the knees, depending on the style, actually make all the difference), the right fabric, cut, design (large, skinny, tailored), anything that works for trousers, works for bermuda shorts as well. Ain’t that great? Still let’s stop lying to ourselves and deal with both sides of this fashion matter.

Why do we hate Bermuda Shorts?

#1 CAUSE THEY’RE GRANDMA MEETS NEWMAN (Seinfeld’s Newman) SHORTS!!! #2 Or, even worse (yes that’s possible) they’re 90′s-hooker-gone-serious-pants (like she’s not doing shorts, but can’t commit to long pants either) ads some cheap heels, tight top, and why the surprise face when you’re hollered at. The skinny bermudas? Horrendous, if you ask me. And what’s even worse is that we’ve all done them somewhere in the late 90′s early 2000s. LOL. 

Situation #3 is less painful but bad nontheless. Bermudas are the shorts of our childhood too, which is totally worth an awww, but there’s a reason why only kids wear them. Did anyone say ridiculous?

#4 Who the hell is gonna take you serious in Bermudas? Unless you’re going for the Charlie Sheen look, in which case I’m guessing you don’t give a shit. Okay. But if us, the hardcore sartorial lovers can’t turn ugly into pretty, I don’t know who can. So give a little credit to those who deserve it (thank you!), sit back and take notes. As my I-totally-hate-Bermudas-persona sits back, still refusing to acknowledge the silly pants thing as a trend,  its counterpart had to step in and get a few points for the

Why We Love Bermudas team!

#1 Long shorts’ length (as the name so eloquently predicts) make these easy to wear regardless of the love we have for our legs. Period. #2 They’re versatile no matter how you put it. Easy to rock for ANY occasion: office (see the tailored versions, with side pockets, slightly loose), casual (see the slouchy styles in denim, cotton, combat style), the more posh versions for evening, the funky styles in prints and patterns. The best ones are the slightly slouchier versions or even skinny styles (yes I just said that), but not super tight, just slimmer around the legs (think Altuzarra or Jason Wu designs). I love Bermudas with simple T-shirts, crop tops or crispy shirts.

Easy to style: blazer on top = office appropriate; heels + fancy top = going out; sneakers + T-shirt = sporty. Anything actually works as long as the design and cut are fit for your body type. OR, just forget point #1 & #2  above (as they were really more of a stretch rather than a fact. Except for the hiding your legs thing.) and deal with the reality. Bermuda shorts are ugly as fuck, and it’s solely this reason that makes them cool. Cause of the normcore thing, you know. Hipsters are sick of wearing posh clothes, so instead, looking like Seinfeld is actually the only thing left for sartorial lovers to make a fashion statement. Looking common and blending in is the thing today. No wonder Bermudas are HOT again.

How to wear bermudas and look great? Let’s get street style inspired: Told you this was a case of sane versus insane. I mean ever since starting this post (actually waaaay before) I’m like a demented fashionista who can’t make up her mind for shit. A few months ago, on the impulse of a DIY mood I cut short my only pair of long bermuda shorts (black pair, tailored, with side pockets, perfect for office looks) on a principle that –  ”Pfff, seriously they’ll never stick as a trend. Not again. And even if they do… I’m sitting this one out.” AHA.

Worst DIY thing I ever did. And not because I really really love them now (which actually I’m starting to), but mostly because they’re a new thing (sort of) and the styling options for it are totally different, hence new (from circa early 2000s) which is like a free ticket to playing sartorials all over again.

What an idiot. Gotta fix this one by shopping. ;)

Not a far stretch from the bermudas trend, the TROPICAL PRINTS trend spreads its wings, trees, leaves, peaks, flowers and colors all throughout 2014 spring and summer. And we are loving every minute of it!

In what seems like a sea of ugliness really (but quite refreshing nonetheless), this explosion of color and chaotic mix of all the flora and fauna of beaches, forests, gardens, islands and whatnot is exactly what we’ve been waiting for to balance everything out, if not to make us enjoy the hot season properly. Fashion wise. A few seasons ago Dolce & Gabbana showed us it was okay to have fun with the silliest prints ever. Remember the vegetables and fruits we used to wear on our clothes? So, branching out to more exotic surroundings and being inspired by the summer holidays was only a matter of time. What the heck took us so long, in the first place?

Perhaps it has to do with the (non) style of Hawaiian shirts.Dad fashion alert all over again.

But hold up, cause the tropical prints are not very far from this 80s nostalgia of ‘Bermuda, Bahama, come on pretty mama’ song slash mood. It’s the exact same thing actually, only done 2014 style. Sans le sily hats, but with the Birkens nonetheless. Ha!

Or perhaps women wanna look and feel uber feminine and sexy all over again, like Lolitas on holiday, Sophia Lorens in Saint Tropez, Brazilian beauties out on a casual Sunday, Italian girls having fun in the sun looking colorful and pretty, in the most effortless and feminine way possible. This is what the tropical prints are all about. How To Wear them? You’ve basically got 3 options.

1. Wear the same tropical print from head to toe: a dress (which can be for office, beach, going out, casual, evening style – the sky’s the limit), trouser and blazer suit, tops and shorts. You can even pile on tons on accessories and have fun with funky shoes and bags as well if it floats your boat. If not, keep these to a minimum by choosing basic pieces in nudes or plain pastels. 2. Wear ONE tropical print piece and pair it with a basic one if it’s too much for you, yet you wanna give this wild trend a try. White pieces mixed with colored tropical ones look best. Summer’ish, rich, sophisticated. Pair a tropical print skirt with a simple white tee and a great necklace. Or don a tropical print top with a denim bottom: cutoffs, bermudas, skirts, jeans. For the really shy ones, there’s still hope: bags, shoes, scarves around your neck or wrapped around your head in the wildest prints and colors ever. 3. If you’re feeling bold and daring mix tropical prints with any other prints. Fruits, vegetables, florals, animal print – all these look fabulous against a tropical pattern. It’s too much. It’s chaotic. It’s literally an explosion of all your senses, you’re eyes get so busy not knowing which prints and colors are which – and this – is beyond fantastic. It oozes sophistication, chicness and a very, very, very holiday vibe that’s appropriate for the city as well. You’re like a Bahamas vacation walking billboard and that’s fine. Hell it’s great! You know how I always say anything goes with anything? I do stand by my fashion mantra, with one slight amendment – it has to look great. How do you do that? Personal style I guess, cause it’s really up to the wearer. It all starts with giving the mixing a try, and experimenting, while forgetting all fashion faux-pas. They’re not cool anymore. Before you dismiss animal print with florals, give it a try. Different geometric prints? Yes it’s possible. I too was once a non believer, until I gave it all a try.

Wearing white in the hot season is anything but radical, yet remains a staple look. A trend that will always be IN, and summer associated, although it’s a look that has spread its classiness in autumn and winter as well.

When Vanessa from Budding Fashionista blog said, an all white look is way better that an all black, it got me thinking if, and why, it is so. Cause regardless of personal like and dislike for the bright non color head to toe hue, an all white look IS more of a statement than its counterpart. It’s brighter. (Yes it is white, but it somehow pops more than any color.) It’s classic but not too been-there-done-that. It’s a no-brainer but not that easy to pull off . While I do see the power of a white dress or white suit, I’m too sold on the black attire, but that don’t mean I’m not loving this summer look. Yes I found it so hard to pull of in the cold season, but come summer… it’s one of my favorite looks. It’s been around since forever really, so is it actually possible for us to reinvent the way we wear it?

Do we style an all-white-look different in 2014, than last year? How do we do it? Is white so versatile that it can actually go from from morning to evening, from Mondays to Sundays?

And how do we look chic in all-white and avoid looking like lost nurses, doctors or lab geeks out on the loose? 

Here are 5 ways to pull off an ALL-WHITE Look this summer?

1. Classy/Office/Business Style. Wear an office white dress with heeled pumps in white or black (brights will do, but they look more lunch/dinner than work appropriate), a big black bag & a white blazer or coat on top. Or don a white trouser suit, in a loose cut. The secret to this look is pairing the dress, suit, white skirt and white blouse with either white or black shoes and bags. It’ll look smart, classy & empowering. 2. Feminine/Spring’ish Style. Think beach dresses, summer dresses in cotton, loose, flirty, midi or pleated skirts with white tees; palazzo pants with white tops – all paired with pastel accessories, wedge soles, brown tones, red lips, colored details. Think super girly, feminine posh flirty styles. 3. Casual Style. The easiest of them all. It has to do with ditching the heels for more comfy shoes (flats, sneakers, boots, loafers, sandals, wedges) in white or not. White jeans and a white tee, shirt or blouse. White shorts and a white denim shirt, white cotton dress, white skirt, maxi dress, the sky’s the limit really. 4. Sophisticated Style. This is very easy to do, it’s all about layers and soft quality textures mixed with posh accessories and amazing shoes and bags. Think luxe, rich women who rule the world in great style. ;) A great white blazer over a silky white shirt paired with any bottoms from long flowy trousers, to jeans or skirts will do the trick. 5. Trendy Hot Style. Okay. This is not for everyone, cause you know who the hell wants to look like Kim K at 9 am, right? Errrr… actually forget I said that, cause the all-white-look is DAYUM. So hot! Although I see this look more for going out, dates, dinners and whatnot, and more appropriate for girls who fave fun with fashion or are not afraid to flaunt it, if you wanna try it out it’s easy peasy. Fitted everything and heels. Or mini lengths and sexy slouchy. Golden necklaces or earrings look amazing against white.  And now, here are more pics for some fashion inspiration. However you look at this staple trend, all white is amazing. It looks rich, classy & sophisticated. Clothes look expensive, crispy, soft – especially when paired with golden accessories. :)

My self inflated ego takes great pride for this trend sticking, cause it was about this time last year, after buying a black maxi dress with spaghetti straps too long for me to NOT wear it with a bra,  that I came up with the idea of wearing bright colored, floral, crazy printed bras underneath anything that common sense dictates to wear with a bra. Sure bustiers work as well. Ah… you had to be such a smart ass about it.

Anyway… I have my friend Julie to witness in my favor on this one. Although, you may just as well disregard the above rant and blame it on a rainy Friday and my delusional self-image. Seriously, I’d do the same, while holding a bitch rest face as TMR stated one of these days.  Of course it all just may be a case of AGAIN those fucking ’90′s comeback trends, when showing our bras was such a cool thing. Doh. I loved it then (cause I was an idiot), hated it afterwards, and now here I am preaching on behalf of this trend as if I’m the Jehovah witness of exposed bras (no pun intended). What the heck is my excuse today? (idiot alarm going off)

I noticed 2 things being massive hits in retail right now: (1) SHEER TOPS, and (2) BRIGHT or FLORAL BRAS. Putting 1 + 2 together does not a genius make. Well maybe a little bit. Or maybe not. I mean going around in bras is obviously not an option, and wearing sheer tops with nothing underneath cannot happen in the real world. So… there you have it. To be honest I don’t even know which of the 3 is more of a trend: the sheer tops, the bright bras, or the combo? 

Sheer tops deserved a comeback. I remember when I was a kid my mom used to wear so many sheer blouses with a black bra underneath, which too is a great option, especially for office. Of course, you have to wear a blazer on top, and keep the seer vision for after work drinks. There is something so incredibly feminine and sexy about a sheer top, that I’m glad they’re back. The way the wind blows through the fabric, the way it conceals & reveals at the same time, the way you’re actually going for the exposed lingerie look but know that going blouse-less is not a option, so you might as well cover up, in sheer though. ;)

It’s elegant, feminine, very sexy, sophisticated and easy to pull off. One sheer top and tons of colored, bright, printed bras can make infinite outfits. Yes, a black bra is the most common option, but I love how a red, pink, neon, and mostly floral bra can be guessed from underneath a sheer top.

Let’s have a look at some sheer tops, bras & bustiers: Cheeky, but not as much as bustiers alone. Although with the way things are going, next thing we know it’ll be a faux pas to wear sheer with a bra. What’s the big problemo anyway, they’re just breasts, right?
